I'm just wondering what fare this bus comes under as there's only like 6 or 7 stops but is it priced as outer suburbs or something??

Also does anyone know what side of merrion square this bus goes from. I had a look at the Dublin Bus website but couldn't find it.

Assuming you are travelling the whole distance, there are dozens of stops on the route. http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/Your-Journey1/Timetables/All-Timetables/661/ - click on "view map".

    Note that there are the:
66 From Merrion Sq. Towards Maynooth (read the fare notes on the link)
66x From UCD Belfield Towards Maynooth (Expresso fares apply)
67 Merrion Sq. Towards Maynooth (via Celbridge) (read the fare notes on the link http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/Your-Journey1/Timetables/All-Timetables/671/ )
67n Westmoreland St. to Celbridge / Maynooth (Nitelink fares apply)

Towards Maynooth Bus Stop No. 7391 Merrion Sq. South. From Maynooth, arrivals are at the adjacent Bus Stop No. 7387.

It is about 38 stages, so fare is €2.65 (cash) or €2.40 (Leap Card). If using the service regularly, consider Transfer 90 tickets, ramblers or monthly/annual tickets.

    Train-wise
    Ticket Fare
Leap Card / Iarnrod Eireann Smart Card €3.00
    Adult Single €3.60
    Adult Day Return €6.60
Adult 7 Day Rolling Rail €29.30
Adult 3 Day Rolling Rail €17.50
    Child Single €1.45
    Child Day Return €2.55
    Schoolchild Smart Card Single* €0.60
    Scholar Smart Card Single* €1.55

    Other tickets are also available.

There are no outer suburban fares on the 66, just regular stage fares as Victor points out above.

I thought it was actually classed as Outer Suburban 1 once you went beyond the Tesco stops in Maynooth? Although currently the fares are actually the same, they used not to be.

There used to be outer suburban fares on both the 66 and 67A, but this changed some time ago when the Kilcock services were scrapped. It's just regular fares now.

Beats turning Outer Suburban once past Lucan Village (corner Lucan Road or what Google Maps terms "Leixlip Road", and what is now the Old Celbridge Road) as it was in the past, that's for sure. Still remember having to go to 59 Upper O'Connell to get the outer suburban stage list and fare descriptions.

6 or 7? It's one of the longest routes on the DB network!

It goes from the south side of Merrion Square.
