    Howdy all.

As some of you know, I'll be starting a new job soon. It's near the Mespil hotel, so I'll be using public transport most of the time.

Some times, it won't be possible to do so. So, does anybody know I'd there are any day rate parking facilities near by? AA website says that the Burlington provides it, but it says different on their website.

To my knowledge there is no private (pay) parking in the area. The Dublin City council yellow (the most expensive) zone extends south as far as the US Embassy so parking is very expensive in that area, I'd stick to pubic transport.

All of the lanes off Raglan Road/Elgin Road/Wellington Road have white boxes for pay & display so don't bother doing a reccie of the area, there are hundreds of office workers in the area and they have to pay €2.90 p.h. to park if they bring their cars to work.

You can park all day in the Burlington but it's as expensive as onstreet parking.

    Where are you coming from?

I'll be coming in from Leixlip.

The problem is gonna be the 7 am starts, and 11pm finishes.

The earliest bus leaves at 6.05 am, and last bus leaves at 11.10 pm. So there isn't major margin for error with either of them. And that's only Monday to Friday. And this is a 7 day week job.

Luas park and ride from the red cow?

Will work for you pretty much every day apart from Sunday.
There is an area in Fitzwilliam Square which is free parking wise at the weekends, at least it used to be, I'll have a look the next couple of days and let you know :)

It'll be 5 out of 7 days, and I've no idea what way the rosters are gonna be. It's not gonna be those early starts/ late finishes all the time. Just some of the time.

And the thoughts of leaving my car at the Red Cow roundabout fill me with dread.

If you're working shifts, the parking down in Wellington Road is free after 6:30 p.m. Mon-Fri and all day Saturday & Sunday and there's usually lot of spaces.

Wellington Road is the next right after Waterloo Road. Walk or drive down Upper Baggot St., through the lights into Pembroke Road and it's the next right after the Lansdowne Hotel.

Thanks for that. I thought Sundays were free parking alright, but didn't know about Sarurdays.

And apologies for taking the lazy option here, but do you know is it free on Bank Holidays as well?

Score. Thanks again man. Really appreciate it.

Between yours and Sthenos advice, that's pretty much all the getting to work
    Issues resolved.

BTW, check out Burlington Road and Mespil Road, they may be also free on Saturdays and/or Sundays and make sure to check both sides of the street, don't assume that the P & D times are the same on both sides.

With Mespil Road the slots outside the shops between the Mespil Hotel and Baggot St. bridge may be 7 days but further back towards Leeson St. and especially along the canal side may be Mon-Fri only, it's worth checking.

Some of the roads around there its a mix of 6.30 and 7pm so check that on the road your on. I don't know exactly which ones, but I've noticed that in the past.
