    Hi All,

I am really interested in all aspects of Irish history and learning about all the people and things that shaped the nation.

I'm trying to find if there is any clubs or societies in the Dublin area that anyone could recommend.

I am also interested in European history WW1 & WW2. I would like to learn more about the Irish in WW1.

The old Dublin Society might be a good place to start:

Has anybody got some experience on the Western Front Association Dublin?

    - there's lots - here's a link to a listing of history societies in and around Dublin

if you would like a bit of interaction and some structure and support you might enjoy one of the part-time history courses available at modest cost at Trinity College (http://www.histories-humanities.tcd.ie/extramural/course-list.php) or at VEC centres like Rathmines.

lots of good books about the First World War available from Dublin City Library, including the recent lavish 'Our War' book (30-something copies of it)
