At 650 yoyos, the best GPU you can hope for is a HD 7670M (unless you don't mind a German laptop from computeruniverse.net)

15.6" HP, Ivy Core i5, HD 7670M, 4 GB RAM for €639 at Komplett.

Decent enough deal, you may want to spend a few quid more on a memory upgrade though.

Oh, this one is not a problem. There are lots of new releases. Meaning, the not so old ones will have lesser prices. Wait for that and you will get what you need.

Computeruniverse? That'd be the German keyboard we have ruled out already ;)

And the Samsung with the A-10 plus HD 7670M in Hybrid Crossfire is certainly a good machine but as you figured out already, it'll be 720 Euro (plus 10 Sterling delivery). No reviews for that laptop yet (or the HD 7660M IGP and HD 7670M combo), but I'd say it will improve the performance of the HD 7670M by 30-40%.

Adding extra memory is not arcane science, it's just a hatch at the bottom, one or 2 screws.
