Cancelling flights. Options ?

    Have 2 flights booked for travel with are lingus late October. May not be able to travel due to finances :(
    The breakdown of each flight is 10 euro fare 80 taxes . Roughly.
    They are mon refundable .
    We have travel insurance so is there a way we can get full refund with a doctors cert .... ?

    How do you know you are going to be sick?

    Anyhow the doctor will charge most what you'll get back.

    I think if you just dont turn up you can claim the tax back within a month of the flight as I couldnt make an aerligus flight in June and was looking into it but my taxes were only 20 euro and think they charge a tenner so I didnt go ahead in the end. Will try and find the link where I read this.

    Scroll down to Refund Administration Fee
    and you will see
    Airport & Government Taxes and charges are fully refundable subject to a Refund Administration Fee (listed in the table below).
    Tax Refund Requests must be made within 1 month of outbound/inbound travel date.
    Tax Refund Requests apply per person, per one-way flight.

    Its a 20 euro charge per person each way but I guess you will get some money back, doesnt seem to say how to go about getting it though.
