    hi all,
just saw an advert for a fixed term contract in my subject area .. ad said phone queries welcome so i rang just to see when the fixed term ran from ...
its starting late sept which is fine
i always thought fixed-term indicated subbing work (e.g. mat leave cover) and when i asked was it a mat leave cover i was told no, its just fixed term ...
so can fixed-term refer to hours of your own as well? and if so, would they count long-term towards a CID .... i'm thinking yes is the answer to both of those q's but just want to check ....
thanks in advance for any help!

Fixed term could be for one year, 6 months, whatever they should tell you the duration.

It means it is not a contract of indefinite duration, the opposite - very definite. These hours can count for a cid rpt hours are fixed term too.

The own hours thing is irrelevant if you do them for four years with no objective ground

    thanks bdoo
will have to wait for interview (assuming i get that far :D) to find more info so ..... when i rang up i was only told it was 'fixed term' to start end of the month and that was it ... nothing about how long it was to last for or anything ...
ah well.. thanks for replying anyway !
