HTC Wildfire S MKV's

Does anyone know how to get the Wildfire S to play HD MKV files?
I have MX player and it plays them, just with the audio and video out of sync and being quite juddery.
As usual with this phone I'm very low on space for other apps, but I'm open to ideas.

I have tried to convert them to AVI's but they just play the same.

My uneducated guess is that it can't handle the much HD content due to slow processors.

I doubt it can handle it to be fair...

Its only a 600 MHz processor, don't think ive ever tried watching a film on mine...

I had that before and it didn't play very much. Most AVI's wouldn't even play.

I have watched films on it before. I just can't get the F1 in an AVI. Seems to only be MKV.:(

Keep trying diferrent vid players until you get the result .

As stated before this could be an issue with the cpu .

Weird, I have streamed football matches on mine on low quality with not much issues...

Soon as I hit HQ it goes to ****, what Rom are you using, stock or ics or jellybean?

I'm not streaming them. Might be different if I am. All I can find are HQ MKV file types of the current season. I'm normally a DiVx guy or AVI. Not a major difference to me if HQ or not, I generally prefer the AVI type tho.

The stuttering in MX suggests it is using a software decoder rather than the graphics chip. Also, isn't mkv generally used for distributing 720p or higher, which I doubt the device can handle too well.
