New Zealand 3DS

My girlfriend just bought a 3DS over here and we're not sure what she can and cannot setup whilst here in NZ.

We'll be back in Ireland in 3 weeks so she doesn't want to link her 3DS to an NZ online account or something. NZ has the same region as Ireland. Should she just play some games and wait until she gets back to set it up or can she fire ahead and do it all now? Also, when I say 'all', what is it exactly she can do besides gaming on it?

    Cheers in advance.

The 3DS will connect to whatever servers match the region of the console. I've a US 3DS so despite being in Ireland have to use the US store. So if you bought the 3DS in Ireland then it will connect with what ever store and servers are specific to the irish region.

Since you bought that 3DS in NZ you might have to connect to the Australian store which might be a problem in future since, it might not accept an Irish credit card for buying games for example although I can't be sure, it might connect to the same shop as the european store since it's a PAL territory.

Doesn't matter. Games are pal, friendcodes are part random, part based on hardware, eshop region can be changed from settings, you won't lose your purchases or money in the eshop wallet and you can change back anytime.
Uh, not sure there'd be any other problem with it.

Warranty and maybe club nintendo stuff, but i think the latter is handled by the eshop region which you can change.
Just look in settings>other settings>profile>region settings for Ireland I guess.

Cheers. I'll tell her to fire away and set it all up. That's if I can pry her away from playing Super Mario Bros. 2. It won't be easy.......but I have oven gloves.
