technician courses, ati vs cat?

    So far as I can see the acca cat while not as highly regarded by employers has two massive trump cards , only a year's experience is needed (as opposed to 2 with ATI ) and is internationaly recognised . I have no experience in accounting yet , although I have plenty of business experience (in insurance ). can anyone give me any compelling reason to go with ATI ?
    I see this qualification as a way of getting in the door somewhere so I can get the experience needed to eventually get the full acca qualification
