WE ARE PRO WRESTLING LOVE @ EIRTAKON

Sunday November 11th, The Helix, DCU.
Times TBC, free with con entry.

Think you know pro wrestling? Think again.

Stripped of the pomp and pageantry, the athletic artform of puroresu becomes the universal story that eludes its Western counterpart, a breathtaking display of spirit and perseverance between fighting rivals. James Fitzgerald and Mike McGrath-Bryan provide LIVE English-language commentary on the main events of New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling's joint 40th anniversary show, broadcast earlier this year from a sold-out Ryogoku Kokugikan, Tokyo.

Get your fix of fighting spirit at Dublin's Eirtakon convention on Sunday November 11th, when the main events of the New Japan/All Japan 40th anniversary hit the big screen!

    HIROSHI TANAHASHI vs. TOGI MAKABE:

The Japanese equivalent of Cena vs. Punk, the high-flying fan fave Tanahashi takes on the rough and ready bruiser, Makabe, in a match for New Japan's IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

    JUN AKIYAMA vs. TAIYO KEA:

All Japan Pro Wrestling's honour is at stake when splinter organisation Pro Wrestling NOAH's Jun Akiyama, with All Japan's Triple Crown Championship in his hands, is confronted with All Japan loyalist Taiyo Kea.

KEIJI MUTO, HIROYOSHI TENZAN & SATOSHI KOJIMA vs. TORU YANO, TAKASHI IIZUKA & TOMOHIRO ISHII:

Three of the greats of Japanese pro wrestling team-up for one night only, as the legendary Keiji Muto joins long-standing dream team TenKoji against New Japan's disrespectful and dangerous villain army.

SHINSUKE NAKAMURA & KAZUCHIKA OKADA vs. SUWAMA & SHUJI KONDO:

Two of New Japan Pro Wrestling's impact players team up against All Japan tag-team heroes Get WILD. Can the cocky, young Okada and ever-aloof Nakamura stand toe-to-toe with some wild ones?

Sounds interesting. Would prefer original commentary though.

We're doing the English commentary live in the room, just to make it accessible to new or casual fans of the sport, and to do something a little bit special for Eirtakon.

Hi dropdmusic, welcome to PW boards! We have strict rules on advertising here so we'll ask you to only respond to questions or remarks in the thread, i.e. no bumping. A week prior to the event, PM me and I'll post here.

Best of luck with the Puro show at Eirtakon. Pretty cool that you're doing live commentary as well, give the show a bit of grounding as I'd imagine not many would know who these guys are. Will Devitt/Taguchi be on the card?

sorry to be the puro nerd but GET WILD aren't Suwama and Kondo. Their team name is Destruction. GET WILD is Manabu Soya and Takao Omori.

Also you should consider showing either the junior tag or the Akebono/Hama vs. Sekimoto/Okabayashi match first. They'd serve as a nice little crowd warmer.
