Here's an example of specialist bike insurance (as opposed to getting cover under a household policy)

I personally would not take out such insurance (my policy is to only take out insurance I am legally required to, such as motor insurance or buildings insurance because it's a mortgage condition), or where the potential loss is catastrophic (contents insurance) - Basically I prefer to keep the profits the insurance companies would otherwise make out of me wherever I reasonably can (same applies to exended warranties)

Still un-decided on paying the insurance though as work for me will be quiet during the Winter and start of Spring to need to be balancing my budget well. So still looking around for a reasonable quote.

Looking at it from another view-point though is that paying several hundreds of euros to insure a bike I love shouldn't be an issue, but as above ^^ pending budget at the moment for me :o

Do you own a house or apartment? If yes, then I presume that you have it insured to include contents? If yes to that also, then why pay a few hundred Euro extra for a separate bike policy when your household policy covers bikes subject to a policy excess which is usually in or around €250 for bikes?

What about personal injury or 3rd party damage?

Read your policy. Also check your ci licence if you have one.
