Just lookin for some help on the price of adding a third sky box to a house, I already have a sky + hd box and a regular sky box but want to add either another sky + hd box or the regular one to a bedroom, would anyone know the total price just roughly?
Basically lookin for the price of the box and the price if just gonna get the exact same channels as are on the other two boxes?

    Thanks!

I believe each multiroom box is 15 euro per month extra. I am not sure on the HD or no HD difference or box prices.

There are 4 types of boxes

Old Sky non HD (that does not record)
Old Sky + non HD (records)
Sky + HD (records, normally only used in main sitting room)
Sky HD (this is the new normal multiroom box; it does not record)

For normal multiroom you would get the last box, that cannot record.

If you are out of contract you could try haggle with them for less. Say UPC is only 5 euro and you may only pay 5 euro.

You could also feed from the main box and use a Sky eye. 0 euro per month but you need to watch the same channel as the main box. You would not get HD unless you use a HDMI lead and a HDMI splitter.

Do Sky offer this or how would I go about getting this? Say if I got this upstairs running from downstairs, would I be able to change the channel upstairs iykwim?
Sorry for the stupid questions but I have no idea about sky.

I currently have 2 boxes, 1 sitting room HD+ and one kitchen (the new normal multiroom box; it does not record) I was looking at getting the kitchen one moved upstairs but if I could run the sitting room one to the upstairs I could get rid of the kitchen one - sorry for the ramble and the blatant hijack!

Sky do offer the service, however they will just ring an installer to charge you. You might get better value by ringing an installer directly and Sky won't get a cut of the price so you may get a better price. Installers are very busy at the moment. Probably best to wait until mid November for best service & value.

Yes. It's like running a very long lead from the main Sky box. You can change channels just like sitting in front of the main TV, and view all saved recordings. However you also must watch the same station as the main TV. It you link it into 5 or 6 rooms all rooms must watch same channel. Not ideal but no extra per month.

It would probably cost you 90 Euro per room for a professional install or 40 by DIY. You need to ask for a "Sky eye" installation and get a firm fixed price before the work starts.

Yes that would work. Sky generally do not promote the remote eye as they don't make 15 euro per month from it!
