Went to buy a Student Weekly ticket today at Balbriggan Station. Chap said I had to have the Student Travelcard and my Institute Of Education student ID won't do. However, I've bought the same ticket (and student monthly by the way) at Pearse station with the same ID before, in the past. My friend also cannot buy the same ticket at Laytown station but only at Pearse. May I ask, why is that?

You must have a student travel card for all weekly and monthly student tickets

Currently for intercity journeys you may travel on a student fare will appropriate institution issued student ID
