good evening and apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but i did do the search option. up until august 31st i was a upc mds customer but now in the land of FTA.

Last saturday i got from france a tnt sat box plus card, my brother was over on holidays. anyway i wanted to see if the box would work but alas i have a problem.

i currently have two 60cm sat dishes one at 19.2 and one at 28.4 relaying through a diseq switch and connected to my alma s2300 combo box plus my saorview aerial.

I was hoping my merely connecting my new tnt sat box to my rf in I could test my new box, but alas i have been informed that the diseq switch is preventing this. I rang my installer who is going to call over some evening this week and we are going to scratch heads on this.

in the interim i would post here for some assistance.

    1. Do i need a separate feed to my tntsat box from my 19.2 dish and can I combine my alma and tnt sat decoders into one Tv?

Any advice assistance would be really helpful. Thanking you

First off you dont need 2 dishes to get 19.2 and 28.2. One dish will do with a simple €10 bracket.

Astra 1 (19.2), Astra 2(28.2) and Hotbird (13) on Sky Zone 2 dish.

This setup if you have a Sky Quad LNB will feed the two receivers. Centre the dish on 19.2 using the Sky Quad LNB, connect two cables to it, feed one directly back to the Sagem TNT box and one to the diseqc switch. Now feed a cable from the 28.2 lnb on the offset bracket to the diseqc switch. Run a cable back to your "Alma" box from the diseqc out.

You have two cables coming into the house.

One for the alma which will get you 19.2 and 28.2 off the diseqc.
One for the TNT box directly giving you the TNT channels directly.

TNT boxes dont support diseqc afaik - Sagem anyhow (not sure about the new Humax). It will work this way on one dish.

your diseqc switch probably has input 1 as 28e and input 2 as 19e which means with no diseqc command from the tnt box you will get input 1 from the switch (28e).

the best way is to run a second feed from your 19e lnb (it will have to be a dual or quad lnb) as this will allow you use the boxes totally independently.

you could put a change over switch at the back of your 2 boxes and change 19e to input 1 on the diseqc switch but then you wouldn't be able to watch 28e if you were using 19e on the tnt box.

How does that setup fare in rain STB? Would centering on 19.2 not lose significant gain at 28.5e where most of the english speaking channels are?

As anybody managed to combine astra 28 with a diseqc switch into a TNT sat box. Or is the TNT Sat Box a platform box like a freesat box and you need to access hidden menus.

the literature with tyhe box does say it supports diseqc 1.0
