Racers and advice, what bike should I buy?

    Sup guys, looking for some advice..

    I know nothing about bikes, brands etc, but I'm looking for a racer to cycle to and from school quickly.

    I know they tend to be quit expensive, could you tell me a little bit about the best brands at the best prices, whether they're tedious to look after etc.

    Finally, I'll be trying to use the "Bike to work" scheme giving me some 20-50 percent off the price so I'll probs need to buy from somewhere which does that scheme.

    and finally I'm looking to pay 500 but if it's more that's alright I guess

    How do you intend to use the BTW scheme if your at school? Unless your a teacher?

    Anyway if your using BTW then use the full €1000 on the bike and buy the gear yourself. There are countless threads here on the same thing with recommendations on various bikes in different price brackets.
