    Hello all,

Mates VW Polo dash light came on, and I can't seem to find out what it says on any VW site.

    The image looks like this;

    220185.jpg

It appeared in the middle on the tachometer He reports steering is sluggish, so thinking it may be that, but not sure.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Hi how r u?
that light indicates problem with your power steering.
u need to connect any VAG diagnostic tool to read of fault codes and then u will known where to start from.
    common fault in polos are:
-Faulty wiring to hydraulic pump / angle sensor on steering column
    -faulty pump
-not can communication going to pump
    -pump faulty
-water in wire loom (engine chamber right hand side)

    Hope that helps

It means you're out of cake. I'd get it sorted quickly.

Is it a mk3 or m4 polo? (Square head lights or circular headlights)
    Circular headlights.

    Cheers for the info :)

He's trying to sell it, so can't see him putting a penny into it. But as an 02 Polo with no tax, NCT gone last Dec/Jan, etc and this, I can't see him getting much (if anything). It's currently parked off the road, and has been for the last 9 or so months, so you'd wonder what else is wrong with it!

    =-=

Will pass on the info, and see what he says.

If he went to a school/charity cake sale he might pick something half decent for next to nothing.

It's the light for the seat backrest lock

You will need to make sure that the seats in the rear that fold down ie the back rests are located correctly at the bottom and also make sure that they are securely pushed back into their locked upright position and this should solve the warning light coming on.
