ESPN not showing NFL?

I just checked the listings for tonight and neither ESPN or ESPN America are showing the NFL games tonight (even though it was advertised on ESPN America).

Anybody know what the story is for coverage from them this season?

BBC have MNF for this year and are showing both games tonight (tomorrow morning)

Unfortunately, I believe these are only accessable via the red button which is an issue for UPC customers (no red button option afaik) and Sky customers as we will not be able to record them for later viewing.

Just checked out the BBC after you posted that link and BBC are showing NFL on Mondays on the red button apparently. Lets hope it works in Ireland so.

It was the advertisment for the USA you saw there is no NFL for ESPN America this year (unless something changes) No Sunday NFL Countdown, No Monday Night Countdown, No Monday Night Football, No Sportscenter, No Sports Reporters, No Sportsnation and a heavily edited PTI and ATH.

Have a feeling allot of custom is going to be lost for ESPN America.

ESPN didn't even bid for the rights, for some reason

The general feeling on NFLUK forum is that the BBC was a last minute job and that if they hadn't taken it then it wouldn't be on the TV at all.

The biggest loss of ESPN not being involved is the loss of clips on shows like ATH, PTI etc. and the fact that Sportscenter isn't shown any more.

So will the "red button" option on BBC be available to Irish Sky/UPC/Satellite viewers??

This makes no sense, it says that the game is available free to air basis.

Having the red button option, don't you have to pay for that?
Cant figure out why they cant just show it on BBC, not like much on that hour of the night.

You'd imagine they could at least put it on BBC 3 or 4, but when has logic ever come into tv scheduling?

The BBC red button service is FTA via satellite.

You'd think so. BBC 2 for example is showing a simulcast of the BBC News channel :( and BBC HD is showing nothing.

I just added the red button stream my Humax Hdr so I can record the games.
I do the same for the F1 forum.
