Have a 07 2.5 pathinder and the chain is making a slight rattle on start up from cold, i have heard rumours of these snapping but nobody has actually saw this
can anybody shed some light on this
plus rough idea on how many hours to do them?

I've never seen or heard of one snapping. A noisy chain on them is usually down to poor maintenance.

    jeep has 180k on it
    full main dealer history
noticed when i done service on it that the dealer had fitted all spurious stuff on last service so i am wondering did they use cheap oil aswell
nissan said they do chains on them but rare see them snap

I have seen it happen one before. The chains are troublesome on them but snapping chains are rarely seen in any engine.
