Civil Medal for Bravery

    Hope I have the right forum here.

    I am looking for information on the Civil Medal for Bravery (An Bonn Gniomh Gaile). I know the ribbon is blue with vertical thin white stripes but am looking to find out which Govt Dept awards same, how to nominate somebody, how often medals are awarded, etc. Anything really.

    Had a colleague carry out a very brave act recently. Very selfless, very underwhelming, over and above what we normally do but most definitely saved a life. I would like to look into nominating him for something and this is what I came up with but Google is very lacking in information.

    All help much appreciated.

    Feel free to delete if required. Have found the info I was looking for.

    Award is by the Comhairle na Mire Gaile or the Deeds of Bravery Council.

    The blue ribbon I had mentioned was a bronze award with a silver being on a deep red ribbon with the white stripes and the gold being on a dark green ribbon with the thin white stripes.

    Their offices are on Harcourt Street in Dublin and they come under the Dept of Justice.
