I have two Win7 laptops and want to use one as master and the others as an extended screen, preferably with free software.
    Like maxivista but cheap/free.
Looked at Synergy, Zonescreen and similar and they didn't work as I wanted.
    Any suggestions?

Tried them all and actually went with zonescreen in the end, on top of running VNC on the machines. Bit tricky but got it to work eventually.
