Is there any stationary trainers that would be suitable outside?

Looking to get one to keep me ticking over the winter

    Do you have a budget?

Some people like rollers cos they require a bit more concentration. I have these ones: http://www.tacx.com/producten/rollenbanken/antares/index.dot

For a turbo trainer I have an older version of this: http://www.tacx.com/en/producten/ergotrainers/flow/index.dot

It gives you a few numbers to chase: power, speed and time.
I wouldn't go using them in the rain.

    Max would probably be €200

I'd be interested in chasing numbers and keeping logs of it. I think I'd probably kill myself on the rollers!

With rollers, you won't hurt yourself since you have no momentum. They are surprisingly easy to get the hang of.

I don't think you would get the same turbo as mine for 200 notes, but the ones without the computer display are cheaper. They use a lever to change resistance.

Do raisers come with the purchase or are they generally separate?

Depends. I got one with mine. One of my bros bought the VR version and he didn't get one.

    What's a raiser?

Support the front wheel of the bike to add stability

It raises the front wheel, so you're not mimicking cycling downhill all the time (thereby invalidating any records you think you are setting;))
