looking for a hotel in ireland with really good modern bedrooms - not worried about location or facilities, i want to avoid the typical beige/brown/cream decor or red and gold baroque styled rooms. the cheaper rooms in ice hotel in ballina seems to be the best we have found so far. thanks

You really need to give more information?

    What's your budget?

    Anywhere in Ireland?

The Strand in Limerick and Hotel Benedict in Belfast are two nice ones ... your OP is very vague, though!

apologies for being vague, didnt think i was. yes anywhere in ireland, no budget limit. ive gone thru most decent hotels from blu-book but most of the rooms are the typical run-of-the-mill beige/grey/baroque decor except for one or two which are modern, more colourful, fancier funkier more interesting e.g. low-end rooms in ice hotel (the more expensive ones aren't as modern looking), maybe the morgan dublin although its a bit clinical. bellinter house seems ok too. im not worried about facilities or spas etc.

I would recommend The Mustard Seed, beyond Adare in Co. Limerick. It is in the blue book as far as I know.

I have stayed there a number of times and the rooms in the old house are an eclectic mix, definitely not your formula beige & brown. I think that Room 3 is the one with the four poster bed at the front of the house. The food is superb here and the staff have always been great too.

The newer part of the hotel has more modern bedrooms which might be more what you are looking for.

looks great, they've made a proper effort with the rooms and adare is a good location to boot.

Maybe a high end B&B would have more personality if that's what you're after?

A suite in the trinity capital is nice.. Stayed there for my wedding. Had a NY loft feel, bare brick walls etc...
