Mods - was going to put this in the Galway forum but I wanted to get feedback from golfers rather than casual golf fans.

Group of 18 heading to Gallaimh on Fri 28th and not sure what bar is best to watch the events from Medinah in? Kind of thinking a small-ish bar with a big screen would suit us best, we could sort of take it over. We're staying in Jury's which is very central. Good Guinness is a big requirement.

    Can anyone suggest a spot?

Try miles lee also know as dew drop inn or Busker brownes. Both just around the corner from jurys

If you're in Galway for the full weekend, Sunday might be a problem... All Ireland replay.

    Ward's Hotel, Lower Salthill.

TV room down the back and its golf, golf and only golf during tournaments.

    Pure bliss !

Golf doesn't start until after 5 on the Sunday so don't think the hurling replay should be a problem

heres a suggestion for the Sunday

go to the Galway Oyster Festival Sunday Finale http://www.galwayoysterfest.com/en/festival-schedule.html

the last time i was there on a sunday they had large screens up in the tent for the match and for the golf and of course - because guinness are the sponsors you will get probably the best guinness in ireland too!!

I'd imagine that a Galway win would result in a lot of Pubs playing the final on loop for the night, then there's the crowds that would stay out all night after the game.
It's definitively a factor, it'd be hard to find a pub in Galway that wouldn't get caught up in post match madness.

Fagans have a raft of TVs, so they'll more than likely have it on. Also Crowes, The Huntsman & the Trappers all have golf societies, so it may well be on on any one of those.
