I flew with Delta 3 years ago from Dublin to Atlanta and they were amazing, personal tvs and great service.
But I flew home with them from New York to Dub and they had no tvs on the seat. I guess it must because of the flight time.

Check out seatguru.com or airlinequality.com that will usually tell you what the plane is like on your journey.

Last week I flew Delta to Atlanta & Aer Lingus to JFK.

To my surprise, the Delta experience was far superior. I usually prefer flying with European carriers wherever possible but the service, in-flight entertainment and the aircraft itself were great - To qualify that, I've been underwhelmed by Delta in the past when flying on aircraft that were showing their age.

Hopefully their fleet has seen some investment on the Dub-US routes, but as leverarch says, it could be the luck of the draw which aircraft you end up on.

Flew Shannon-JFK with them on a 752, seating was cramped (31' pitch) had a back seat tv, crap head phones, toilets door signs did'nt illumenate or lock properly, was one or two shreeks and funny moments as some one walked in on them, basicly the plane was a bucket of sh1t internally, grub was excellent, even served ice cream and pizza as we flew down the east coast to JFK.
