    Okay, I admit, this is probably a bit lazy of me but my head is spinning from the various sites & I'm kinda hoping someone else has been there, got the T -Shirt & can help me out......:confused:

    Irish, living in France over 20 yrs, married to Frog, 2 sons.

    Q1;
    Am I entilted to dble nationality. As far as I can make out its "NO". Becoming French means I forfeit my Irish identity due to EU rules. Right or wrong?

    Q2;
    My eldest is almost 18. Both were "declared" to the Irish embassy in Paris (birth certs etc). They both want Irish passports, are they allowed have them?.

    Q3. are they entitled to dual nationality?

    I think they are even if I'm not but would appreciate any help/advice from folks in a similar boat.

    My thanks in advance,

    4PP

    PS: There would be zero objection from the Mother, she'd quite like to be Irish herself! (can you blame her ;))

    Q1 yes you can become dual national (as long as you satisfy French rules on naturalization) No EU rule to stop you being a citizen of another country.
    Q2 yes
    Q3 yes
