VW Golf Issue

    Hi there,

I recently bought a 04 VW Golf, 1.6 manual. When the car is idling it kind of jumps about slightly. I have had it back to the dealers 3 times now and they insist there is nothing wrong, and that this is just how VW Golf's are, they sit low apparently.

I have tried raising the revs by holding in the accelerator, but the car still does the same thing. I was assured its not spark plugs or an engine mount.

The jumping seems to be very random, and sometimes its not there at all, other times it is.

I have tried it with AC on also, same issue.

Last night I noticed that in between 60-70 kmph, the car was really shaky.

Another thing I noticed is that when the car is started sometimes there is a kind of bubbling sound from the exhaust.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Because I dont, and I dont believe that this is just how they are!

    Thanks!

Is it a main VW dealer? Did you buy the car off them?

No, it was bought from a Hyundai dealer, but the second time I brought it in they had to send it to VW for a diagnostic.

It's idling at about 650 RPM but with the AC on it goes to about 900, and the issue persists, but seems slightly better.

I also forgot to mention its a Mark 4 if that makes a difference. It's a tough one, so an ideal reply would be from someone with the same type of car letting me know if theirs does the same thing! All help is very appreciated though!

    Thanks for the replies!
