What kind of coffee shop? Starbucks etc some coffee knowledge will go along way. Internet and buying some whole bean from them will help. General run of the mill cafe the volunteer somewhere - Oxfam coffee shop or something (if such a place exists).

Generally people get in by just happening upon a place when the time is right or though a friend or some other contact.
