job seekers entitlement enquiry?

Hi all,
ive just signed a contract with a creche that has me working for the duration of the ECCE scheme, i'm a trained Montessori teacher, so I finish up at the end of June. I hope to be returning back to them in September, but my contract is only up on till june 28th officially. Im wondering would I be entitled to any jobseekers allowance during July and Aug? If so is it means tested as my husband is a lecturer on a full time contract and he would have a savings account, in his name with our life savings in it (approx 25k).
