Clutch Pedal loosing compression

    Hi All

    The Clutch pedal in my Renault Scenic 2011 RX4 is loosing compression .

    First thing in the Morning its like the pedal is not connected . you need to pump it a few minutes for it to stiffen up so you can change the gears.

    Any help

    sounds like you have air in your clutch system, presumably caused by a leak.You need a mechanic (especially if it takes a few MINUTES to get it working.

    Presumably its a 2001 RX4? Most probably the 1.9 dCi? If so, its either the clutch slave or master cylinder needs replacing......One of them is in/on th gearbox and is a tough job. The other is in the pedal box and much handier!

    Fill the reservoir and be gentle pushing the clutch pedal until you get it sorted.

    Not recommending it but when I got stuck with no clutch at all I used washing up liquid as clutch fluid until I could get the proper fluid. Worked a treat!

    Happened in my 07 Renault van.. Mechanic changed the master cylinder(cheaper easier to change) didn't fix it, had to change the concentric slave cylinder ... Not cheap...get a mechanic who knows renaults they have to open the gear box .....
