    Hi all,

I did a bit of searching on google and can't really find what I'm looking for.

Is there such a system where your heating controler/timer can be connected to a wifi network and controled by an app on a smartphone?

    Thanks,
    Neil.

I dont know. But i know it can be connected to your phone so you can call your house and turn it on. I wont even start to go into the bits and pcs because i will say something wrong. Ironically i have it on mine but never used it after the first month or so.

If you dont get all the detail here you will over in the home security section as you use your alarm panel

While the alarm engineer put mine in he also connected a flood light to the front and back of the house. So if the alarm gos off the light comes on.

This allows my neighbours reconise its my alarm straight away. My alarm also sends me a text message as it goes off and i know the difference between a false alarm and an actuall break in. In an actual break in i get a text message as each zone is broken so typically this is what i would get.

    Back door

    Hall way

    Landon

Where as in a false alarm i would just get back door. Or window. which could be just an impact from a dog or burgler who was then frightened off.

Additionally my child is special needs so i have an option of a silent alarm on my panel so when i was working if my child got up and went down stairs he got a low tone audiable warning but i also got a text message.

On the face of it the Radeco system looks better.
The climote will only control up to 3 zones providing it is already zoned.

All I have is 3 zones already, the Radeco system seems a bit overkill for what I'm looking for.

The climote system seems to do what I'm looking for. I presume it needs a ready to go sim card? Am I right in saying the unit doesn't use credit as it only receives messages?

As with any rtg sim card you will have top it up before the sim card expires ( every 6 months or so) .

Have a look at this one too:- http://www.heatmiser.co.uk/web/index.php/wifi-thermostats

I'd probably get this over a climote...

I'm comparing those exact ones DublinDilbert.... would you mind saying why you would go for Heatmiser over Climote? Any recommendations on where to source them in Ireland?

We got one of these installed (H37XL model): http://www.horstmann.co.uk/central-heating.php
Could it be replaced with one of those wifi models mentioned above?
I'm not sure how many wires on the back, the datasheet PDF has the following info, not sure what to look for there:

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but was wondering if you ever got a WiFi replacement for the Horstmann control you have, as I have the same one and was also wondering about this.....
