JobBridge Interview

    Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of a jobbridge interview with a county council or anything similar? I have one next Tuesday but I'm not really sure what to expect. It's for an engineering position but with no experience required other than a relevant degree.

They told me they've sent out a letter with the interview details but it still hasn't arrived and wont now until Monday, the interview is half way down the country and early in the morning though so I'll be leaving here on Monday which means I'll have no time to prepare after reading the letter.

Obviously I'll revise the relevant stuff from my degree and have a few answers prepared but any help or experiences are welcome

    Hi,

Try to know your CV inside out. They will ask questions on your education, college and work-experience even if its voluntary work or part time work or full time or a work placement include all of them at least.

Regarding technical and competency type questions, it depends on the role you are doing the interview for. They are likely to ask you technical questions such as experience in surveying or using Mapinfo, CAD etc

I have an interview coming up soon myself on the Jobbridge scheme, finding a regular job is almost impossible these days and Ive had at least 10 interviews over the last year! :(

Oh crap!, just noticed you had your interview today?!

Any advise on the type of questions they asked??:D

Went all right, the interview was almost completely technical though which caught me off guard a bit, I had answers prepared for all the obvious questions but apart from 'Tell me about your education' and 'Why are you interested in the industry?' I wasn't really asked anything personal. They asked a couple of awkward questions on safety legislation which I really didn't have a proper answer for but I managed most of them fine

that sounds lik a disaster of an interviewer, usually they just lik to get to know you and your personality, with maybe the odd question related to what u'd b doing in the job, they usually spend more time telling you about the job than interviewing you

Yeah as I said I wasn't expecting much in the way of technical questions, obviously a few to make sure I had a knowledge of the job but I thought it'd be more about getting across my motivation, willingness to learn etc

Got the job anyway so couldn't have gone too badly :)
