Resident driving his friends foreign car.

    We all know it's illegal for Irish resident to drive a foreign registered car.

    But I was wondering what consequences might be if a person (Irish resident) is caught driving his friends (non-resident) car (foreign registered).

    If he get pulled over, can car be seized by customs? If so, how can the owner get it back?
    Are there any possible fines for both driver (resident) and owner (non-resident) ?
