GNIB expiring 1 month before Naturalisation

Just received a letter from the DJE saying that my application for Naturalisation has been approved. Will be "sworn" on 15th October.

I have to send in my GNIB + other stuff by 21st Sept to the Citizenship dept.

Sounds good so far ... except that the fact my GNIB expires on 13th Sept.

    Question:
Do I need to renew the GNIB - despite the fact that I'll be sworn in in October?
    - I'm not really keen to splash out €150-€250 to renew the GNIB and then pay €950 for the Naturalisation certificate at the same time ...
