Going making a sheep weighing scale cage, just wondering what size to make the internal so I can use it for ewes and lambs. Will be weighing mule ewes and lambs. Was thinking 4' long x 3' high x 1'-10" internal dimensions. Any advce on whether this is too big or too small? Also does anyone weigh there ewes much or at all? Would it be better to make it just for weighing lambs up to say 50kg to see if they are ready for breeding or the factory?

I weigh the ewes every now and then, before dosing mainly. It's handy to be able to weigh em.

I got an IAE one last year - the dimensions are here, might be of help.

How much will the Scales cost, I imagine they'd be the most expensive bit?

Thanks UJ that will be a great help. Stopped by the co-op today to measure their ones up, but they were out of stock:(. Got a scales (100 kg) last year for €30 (got it from a catering supply store for way cheaper than the same scale that the co-op was selling, thanks to google) weighed the few lambs in a bucket, but thankfully they won't fit in a bucket anymore.
