Truck drivers and traffic cones

just need to get it off my chest..

turned onto the M50 southbound this morning from the Red Cow/N7, truck driver cuts me off to go onto the feeder lane.. fine, I'm feeling chilled so no bother, truck and I filter into slow lane, traffic is very heavy (there was an accident at Firhouse) and gradually slowing so I stayed behind the truck going about 80, happy enough to stay in the slow lane until the traffic lightened.
Truck is a bit erratic, kept his right indicator on for a good couple of miles, weaving slightly etc., so I keep a good distance as much as possible in the heavy traffic, can't overtake now as there are two big trucks in the middle lane as well. Then he out of nowhere drives too far on the hard shoulder, hits a traffic cone which is whipped into my path, I avoid it as much as possible but can't leave the lane due to aforementioned big trucks to my right side. Got a right whack from the cone up the left wheel a big old dent in my car door from it, about 1ft long. Grr.
No point to this story as I said, I couldn't stop or anything it was just fecking annoying.

ya should've got his reg number and/or company name and reported it ya never know it might have been seen on the cameras if the traffic was heavy!

Reported it where? To the Gards or to the company itself? I did make a note of both (actually got my 7 year old to do it, it's in brilliant handwriting..cough :D), and the time.. I figured it was a no-hoper though.

you could try the company first and see what they say and if ya get nowhere with 'em call thier bluff and ask for their insurance details ya never know it might scare them into sorting it out.if no joy you could give the details to the gards.at the end of the day why should you have to put up with a damaged car due to the idiot driver.

Contact your own insurance company and tell them what happened. Most of that section is covered by camera, you might get something out of it.
