Lots of high pressure about making those signals travel further...

Anyone else notice new channels on a scan? Picked up a french multiplex on Channel 36 earlier. TF1/ARTE etc coming through.

Yes get French TV on ch 36 35 37 and 39. Although no Saorview or much Freeview. Its interesting to have French TV but I would prefer UK and Irish TV.

Lost all Preseli muxes and Arklow but got a few French ones instead. My aerial is wrong polarity for Arklow but looking straight at it. Cornwall wipes it out in strong lifts.

It's interesting for awhile but it's a pain after a few minutes.

Yeah, specially as half the Frenchies are encrypted and I get better results on FTA anyway. ;)

Yes and there is too muck muck on Astra 28.2 east, Hotbird 13.0 and Astra 19.2 which is also encrypted, maybe if a lot more people find out about FTA sat and Freesat and stop subscribing to Sky for free UK channels then we might have more decent free content to watch and entertain us.

This thread is nothing to do with encrypted satellite content. Don't drag an intresting subject off topic with stupid posts.

Ok, sorry Ronnie Raygun, he did mention terrestrial encryption though so it wasn't quite stupid even though a little off topic, point taken, calm down please, thanks. :)

Ah... I'm guessing that this is causing the glitches to CBeebies these last few days (including as I speak). Not good when you have a young child watching it! It's nearly unwatchable (for a usually strong channel here in Letterkenny).

I was receiving all the Freeview HD stations today from Central Scotland, Eastern Border in England which we have recognised and posted before, both signals were competing and wiping out two thirds of the Freeview channels from Divis here near Balbriggan. :)

French mux's and also cornwall wiping out Preseli and kippure in Castletown, north Wexford. It can be a big problem when there's an all ireland on! however it seems to have calmed down today.

Just wait till Clifden and Tonabrocky lock each other up. Same Ch and polarity. :)

I wouldn't think there would be a major problem between Clifden and Tonabrockey. For a start, many of Clifden and Tonabrockey FM transmissions share frequencies (103.3 iRadio, 91.7 2FM/Spirit, Flirt FM/Today FM 101.3)

I would think there are worse examples of channel reuse. Woodcock Hill and Knockanore share frequencies (albeit different polarity). Have there been any Clermont Carn/Truskmore clashes?

Could avoiding potential clashes between the 2 main transmitters be the the reason for the frequency change at Clermont Carn post ASO?

Likely that or that the current allocation on channel 52 (RTE One analogue), isn't as directionally restricted and they can up to the full TX power, perhaps being on C53 is the reason it's only broadcacting to the south and west

CC currently has power restrictions on Ch53.

There are (or where) currently two relays using Ch53. One in Leitrim, Co Down and one in Stranrear in Scotland.

When the Leitrim TX is switched off Ch52 will be reused for Saorview (with Ch56) as allowed for under GE06 without further frequency co-ordination.
