Tried asking this in the Australia forum but got no replies.

I'm looking at buying a cheap car in Oz. Found a dealer selling a 1994 petrol/LPG and asking for top end of my budget price. He wouldn't budge on the price even when I said I had cash ready to go.

Anyone know if there really is such a demand for these dual fuel cars in Oz or is he just bull****ting me and playing hardball?

There is definitely a premium for LPG cars in Oz and Poland and UK etc (anywhere its avaiable). In the UK its about 10-15%. I dont know about Oz however given it saves you money from day 1 and cost the seller about $2k, its excepted and acceptable there will be a premium.

At the moment LPG is 59c per litre here so I can understand how cheap it would be to run. I just want to make sure I can shift it in a few months time, hence, my concern for demand.

It really depends on how well that particular car is priced.

I would say theres a larger premium on big engined cars i.e. 3 Liter plus.

LPG on a sub 2 liter isn't meant to be good.
