Same with me. Please tell me I don't have to pay €5726!

Yeah I got that as well and then it said I only had to pay €1,222 now. I thought we had to pay over 2 grand. I am holding off paying it.

Just rang them there, the big figure is a mistake (and coming up for loads of people), just pay the smaller amount (€1222 for me) and there's more money due in January

Mine is saying I owe them almost nine grand so I hope it's a mistake!:)

Also it's asking for a minimum amount of just over two grand but I've gotten the grant the last two years and am getting it again this year and am usually only asked for the student levy (around 100).

    Better call them

Anyone know why the student contribution has gone up from 93 to 97 this year?

I rang them up, the woman said there's an option to just pay the levy if you're a grant student but I can't find it. Did she mean that on the payment page, in the box where it has 7 grand to just put 97?

From what I can tell from this: http://fees.nuim.ie/documents/UGFEES1213.pdf
the initial large figure that ya'll saw is made up of:

-Tuition fee (paid by the government for non-repeat students)
    -Student levy of 97
    -Student contribution of 2250

As far as I know you can pay the fees in two installments so that's why some figures are less than the two grand you'd expect, also grant holders should only have an amount due of 97 from what I can tell :)
