As far as I know it is full the national parks limited the numbers they could allow. See their facebook page.

Doing this with a couple of others should be fun hope weather stays nice and sunny.

Was the 35 euro 2 for the price of one, so a friend goes free or halfs. Plus you can do both swims also.

I'll be there, for my first organised swim. And first time in fresh water in Ireland.
My main aim is not to be pulled out of water by a rescue boat ;)
    See you tomorrow.

Crap, I should have signed for the full 1.5k.
When I have arrived at eight, it looked like this

Then the mist lifted and it was sunny day with no wind, water was like Guiness - cold and brown. I am not blaming the water, but I got almost lost. I haven't realised that I had stretched my arm yesterday, while helping a friend with drywall. The first arm of the race (300m or so) took ages, because I couldn't settle down into the rythm and couldn't swim straight. After that, it was walk in the park. I wish I have signed for the second full swim.

And when I was leaving at 10, it looked something like this

I will definitely try to take part in another open water swim, because I don't mind being the last one ;)

Very enjoyable swim absolutely fantastic setting and a very friendly atmosphere.

And with the sunshine out excellent.

It seems a pity that swimming is usually not allowed in this lake
