Soup - Drink it or Eat it?

Let's settle this once and for all, do you drink soup or do you eat soup?

If we assume that all liquids must be consumed by drinking, then the following experiment may put this age old question to bed:

You're going through airport security with a bottle of soup in your bag, you are searched and the security officers do one of the following:

    A. Since it's a liquid, they confiscate it, and from the assumption above, it is therefore drank, not eaten.

    Or

    B. Since it's a food, they let you keep it, meaning that it is to be eaten.

    Discuss.

Does it have bits in it, like large lumps if carrot, so on? Or is the smoother variety?

You fail to differentiate between the liquid in the soup and the solids floating in that liquid. You don't necessarily eat the broth, but you do eat the chicken and the noodles in chicken noodle soup.

I thought soup was used as lube? Eating or drinking it just sounds nasty.

Let's say the officer doesn't know the type of soup or whether it has chunks in it or not, (its in a flask, say) to him it's just "soup".

I bathe in it so it seeps right into my skin. Better for digestion that way.

If you want a cavity search you can just ask them. They're very helpful like that, no need to faff about with soup.

I had a cavity search before. Dropped me last malteaser and it went down between the sofa cushions. When I finally found it, it was covered in fluff, and tasted a bit dodgy, but damnit, I won't be beaten by a couch, and I had to teach the malteaser a lesson.

If it's vegatable soup, you're in the right place, if there's croutons, well what more can I say, apart from,,,,, the nicest goat I've ever eaten was in Tanzania
