I couldn't find an answer to this by Googling and hope I'm posting in the most appropriate forum...

I have a Vodafone Smart 858/Huawei U8160 and recently installed CyanogenMod 7.2 on it. I recently got the 16 digit NAC code for unlocking the handset from Vodafone. I booted the phone (into CyanogenMod) with a non Vodafone SIM and it prompted for a PIN but not a 16 digit one. So I was wondering ... do I have to restore to the stock Vodafone ROM/firmware in order to use the Vodafone NAC to unlock the phone? I can obviously do this but it's a bit more hassle than I expected/wanted (full backup of CyanogenMod + apps + data, restore stock Vodafone ROM, unlock, re-root, restore CyanogenMod etc...).

And if instead I pay to get an unlock code from eBay or DC-Unlocker will it work under CyanogenMod? If so I'd pay the €7 or whatever to avoid the above hassle...

    Thanks a lot

Ah - problem solved. For some reason I had to enter my SIM PIN (it's a 48 GoConquer SIM) first in the screen mentioned above. Once I did that I got to the regular SIM network unlock PIN screen and was able to enter the 16 digit Vodafone NAC to unlock the handset. :)
