    Hi Folks

Thought I'd share my experience here. I bought a GPS tracker off the web just to see how they work and how good they are. Surprisingly its quite a nifty little thing and for under 80 euro in total including a sim card I needed to buy I think its very reasonable.
Its quite a small device too. Its about the same size as a small packet of matches , perhaps a little bigger and powerful.
I set it up yesterday and read the manual etc, actually the manual you get on a little cd is better than the paper one. Anyway, charged up the battery and left it a few hours. Setup is fairly intuitive if your used to changing sim cards in phones etc. You can do several things to get the co-ordinates. The first thing is to program your own mobile number into it so this is the master number ringing the device. Up to 5 numbers can be programmed into it. The bit I like is the choice it give you to either send it current location via long and lat by text OR via link. You can then use this link and use Google map to give an exact location on a map. Its brill...
The best bit, and I have yet to try this, is the mic. You can switch on a mic remotely to listen to conversation, I gather. Have to try this yet though. Could be dangerous...lol . I have an idea to send it on a world trip as an excercise to see how long it lasts. The battery is a standard 3.7 800mAhr. I know is possible to get one that bigger capacity, 1500mAhr. So far its day 2 and the battery has been fine. I expect it to last , I hope 5 days. The device goes on standby I think . It sends me co-ordinates twice a day but this can be programmed also to be more frequent. Infact, there are a few more functions, over-speed, add on's for disabling cars if stolen...
I can think of a few other functions this device might have that wife's and husbands might like it for...ha...I wont go there. ;)

If anyone is interested in more you can let me know...

    Cheers

    Rich
