Got a letter form Bill Cullen Group today stating that from 31st August 2012 they are no longer a Franchise for Renault! . Just wondering how this will effect 5 year warranty on car I bought 2 years ago ?

    Dak

I got the same letter. I presume the warranty is with Renault and not Bill Cullen Motors so it will be ok

I had a similar problem with an Alfa when Ambrose Glass were no longer an Alfa/Fiat dealer. No impact on warranty as it's with the manufacturer not the dealer.

Isnt it common that ex dealers would keep the franchise for the servicing side for years afterwards. Pretty crap if this is not the case here.

Consumer Law says your agreement is with the place of Purchase not with the Manufacturer.

A warranty is an addition to your rights under consumer law.

Should have explained a bit better.
If you want your rights covered by consumer law then you go to the place of purchase.

Whatever is written in the warranty would cover you for whatever is written in the Warranty, you'd have to read it.

I have since received a letter from Renault saying that my warranty is covered if I use a Renault dealer. They listed all the Renault dealers in the country aswell
