derv; It a lotto, to be honest. I have been to Mayrhofen in early December and skied knee deep pow, but I have also been to higher resorts and skied Rocks, crud and grass.

The resorts listed as open now are all high alpine glaciers with limited skiing Saas Fee followed by Hintertux having the biggest and most varied areas.

If you are going that early go glacial or don't bother

I would recommend Hintertux in early December.....Mayrhofen wont be open......not sure when it opens ? Fattes may know.

Kaprun is also an option, its a glacier close to Zell an See....

I think the Glacier at Les Deuxs Alpes only open for last week in October then closes again. Have been their that week before, only grass and dirt below this level when i was there but decent glacier park.

Also was in Solden start of December after St Anton couldn't open. Had glacier and some higher non glacial runs open. They have the WC skiing there at end of October, very steep run for a glacier. Fun town would go again.

As above anything that early in the Season is risky and you could get anything, Mayrhofen normally opens properly about the 1st 2nd Week in December.

Solden during the world cup is a night mare for recreational skiers so much is closed for the weekends racing it is hardly worth it unless you are going for the WC races. The week before is the same allot closed as teams are using training runs etc.

Couple of of PRo's I know are currently training in Hintertux and say the conditions are great.
