Renting in Celbridge

    Hiya,

We're thinking of moving to Celbridge to rent a 2 bed house. Also considering Maynooth but houses there seem to be a bit more expensive to rent in than Celbridge.

I'm just wondering what estates we should avoid (if any) when looking to rent in Celbridge and what would be the best areas to look at? At the moment i'm looking at Castletown, St Raphaels Manor and Willowbrook Park. Any other areas that we should consider...?

    Thanks:)

They're all fine, there aren't any estates you need to avoid really.

If you're looking for a 2 bed house try Priory Lodge or Priory Square, St. Raphael's Manor, or for 2 bed apts try St. Wolstan's Abbey or Hazelhatch Park.

Depends on several things, if you want to be near the schools the Raphael's Manor side is probably best, if you want to be near the train station the latter two are handier.

The older estates like Willowbrook generally start at 3 bed semis or bungalows but they're fine houses as well.

The Maynooth prices are always slightly higher for renting simply because of the college. If you have a 3 bed house you could get maybe 100 a week each off 3 students so you would be mad to rent it for 900 or 1000 to a couple/family.

I live in Celbridge, I would avoid St Raphaels Manor.
I have friends who bought there and moved out within 2 years.

I've lived in many places for under two years. I wouldn't hold that against any of them. The fact that the area wasn't to your friends taste doesn't really make it an area to be avoided, unless you have any further evidence you want to share.

Low/no crime, relatively new pre-boom houses built to a higher standard than you would expect from ones built 10 years later. Only downside is the ramps, which is why the two roads I recommended are beside the entrances on either end. Apart from personal taste it's hard to see what you could hold against the area.

Thanks for the replies. Good to hear that most areas are pretty nice. Priory Square and Lodge look modern compared to others which i would prefer. Would like a back garden though and 2 beds don't seem to have that there. Would appreciate any other advise on why to avoid St Raphaels Manor? Any experiences welcome.
