    Hi new to this forum.
Have a ford 2600 which i have inherited and know little about which has air locked. Changed fuel filter- was full of crud- connected back up, opened the air bleeder on side of pump. Have got diesel to there but not getting to injectors. Fairly new to tractors so am i missing something here. Is there some other part to losen or check.
    Thanks for any advice
    J

It's likely it is air locked up at the injectors. Try backing off the connection at the top of the injector and turn it over, allow diesel to come out and tighten.
Do them one by one and it should sort it out.

Also since your not familiar, are you sure the fuel filter is sealed correctly. I've seen many lads spend hours with an airlock only to find a poorly fitting seal on the filter taking in air as it turned over. If bleeding at the injectors doesn't work re check the filter.

Ensure the battery is strong, diesel ignights on compression so she should be swinging good and strong.

    Hi thanks
have taken off injector pipes as come out of pump. Get good jet of diesel through the bleed screw on front and diesel sitting in injector connector at pump but doesn't jet out from injector connectors, will at best get a slight weeping.
Is ther another bleed screw anywhere?

First, learn how to bleed it properly. If it stops after that, you may dirt elsewhere in the system. There's a possibility that there is a lot of crap in the diesel tank too. As a rule - the diesel system, tank, lines, pump etc have to be kept spotless. Any dirt in there, will break your heart with constant stoppages.
It happened to me years ago. Tractor kept stopping over a period of a few weeks. In the end I siphoned out the dirty diesel from the bottom of the tank. If seemed to do the trick. It would have been a big job to take the tank off and powerwash it.

There's normally two bleed screws, one on the low pressure side and one on the high preuures side of the pump. There may be one too on the fuel filters(s) itself.

Airlock are not unusual with this tractor.

Make sure diesel, and diesel system is clean. The location of filter in tank should be checked for dirt.

Once you get her going try and keep diesel level above halfway to avoid further problems.

Oh yeah I do have one as you might have guessed, lovely little tractor 1981 with 3600hrs:D

    hi
got her sorted, hadn't released the bleed on top of filter. Had to put jump leads on to spin the starter harder and then she came.
Part of issue i think is she is only firing on 2 cylinders- looks like no 1 isn't working could be injector or cylinder head another job to sort
