What size of shear grab would u guys recommend for a MF5470 with 956 loader. Passageways are about 13' wide and cattle/cows feeding both sides. I dont use a diet feeder. Was thinking about 4'6''? Tractor is wide so not a lot of room to twist/push the grass over in the passage. I used to get lend of family handler which was great, but now i'm trying to get used to the tractor and new loader - not as easy at all??

Have you walls in silage pit?
I find it a pain in the ar5e getting silage out of the corners, but my grab is only 1m wide on the back loader. There is a trade off between width and weight, I reckon you'll need weight on the back above 4ft wide.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Blue, dont think i will need weight as i have been carrying v heavy (wettish unfortunately) round bales on the front loader this summer no bother - the 5470 is a big enough/heavy enough tractor i think.
Yes have walls in silo - getting silage out of the corner a pain no matter what you use. I have used handler and a wee back end block grab and u have to go in at a sharp angle no matter what you do.
