it is a great price for not too bad ssd (but when i think that i have paid ~170 just two years ago... ;)

I've no idea why i'd need an SSD (Both my laptop and desktop have fairly quick HDDs) but at €39 it's entering impulse buy territory.

I was really waiting to buy a much larger, 256GB disk, but I could used this I guess. Just for installing programs.

Currently running a Crucial M4 for over a year, and it is crazy fast, and still amazing. This is definitely slower, but tbh, it'll still make a PC seem ridiculously fast in comparison to a normal hard drive.

I ordered two of this 2 day ago. 60GB is a bit too small for single disk (ie. in laptop) but I am going to build RAID0 matrix and gain 120GB with 421MB/S Read - 471MB/S Write (according to other users experience). With Sata2 only Mobo it will be even 150% overdrive.

But if someone has Sata3 support I would rather recommend this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007P3RMLU

Intel 330 Series 120GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive
    £79.85 delivered to Ireland.

    Sequential Read: 500MB/s
    Sequential Write: 450MB/s
Random Read 4K Performance: 22.5K IOPS
Random Write 4K Performance: 33K IOPS
    Warranty: 5 years

that's what everyone says before they get an SSD. ;)

trust me, get one and you won't look back.

i might actually get one for my htpc, although now that i think about it, i have a 60gb ssd in my wife's netbook which just died the other week (the netbook, not the ssd) so i might just rob that one instead. :)

although, again, this is very cheap, so it could end up being an impulse buy anyway. :D

I have one of these in my HTPC and my main PC a while, no complaints at all, just want to watch if you install itunes as it automatically chooses the OS drive and can eat into free space.
    Great price.

Thanks, was just about to order one but after those reviews think I will leave it.

Edit. Just noticed you get 3 years warranty. Whats OCUK like for returns should the drive fail?

Good price but I wouldnt touch that drive with a barge pole.
Its old technology and very unreliable.

not true, i have 4 of those now, and the only problem is BSOD after sleep on one asus laptop due to old bios that doesn't power it up fast enough

otherwise it is great thing to have for the money - it won't be good enough for new computers, but will greatly improve experience with any older laptop\desktop

Kinda agree with the above, I am onto my second replacement, previous ones suffering same problems. Fine for a while they causing BSOD and acting funny, not being recognised etc.

Regared as highly unstable, I'm pretty sure they are just selling off old stock.

I've got my delivery today - 2 disks + extra (??) pack of Haribo Jellies. Is it standard procedure in OCUK?

120gb OCZ drive available from scan.co.uk for about €66 delivered. It's Vertex+ instead of Vertex 2, and according to post #4 in this thread, these SSDs are more stable than some other OCZ drives.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120gb-ocz-technology-vertex-plus-25-ssd-sata-ii-3gb-s-read-250mb-s-write-160mb-s-64mb-cache-12000-io

I'm hoping amazon do a price match soon so delivery will be free.

I was in your shoes about 2 years ago. The cheapest 60GB SSDs were still about €120 back then but when I saw one in a special offer for €60, I bought it and I haven't looked back. From last bits of text from the BIOS on the screen to the Windows 8 logo in about 2 seconds
