Hydraulic brakes - reattaching wheel

    Hi,

Have a mountain bike with hydraulic brakes/quick release wheels.

Is there a knack of putting the front wheel back on without the disc rubbing off the hydraulic brakes (had to remove after puncture)?

Cannot for the life of me place the wheel back in place without it rubbing, and would rather fix the problem myself without resorting to bringing the bike to the professionals.

make sure pistons are pushed back, might have to use a tyre leaver, be careful not to damage the pads,

Cheers dancecatz2000, will try tomorrow (soo sorry for the newbie question) if I have to manually push them back will they retract as they should when the wheel is on and brakes applied?

...once the wheel is dropped in then engage the brake fully and only then lock the sewer while the brake is on.

When you release the brake the disc should be centered.

+1 on this. I give it 2 or 3 hard squeezes, hold it tight then tighten the scewer. Works a charm every time.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"
