Transport from South Dublin, best option?

Sorry to make two threads here, seems a bit spammy. Regardless just wondering what is the best course of action for getting to the college from South Dublin, Tallaght to be exact. I heard one bus is particular goes half way around the world before dropping you anywhere near the college and when it does you still have a good 20 minute walk. I was told the best option is to get a Luas into the City Center and then take a bus from there to the college. I'm working on my licence but I probably won't have a full one until 2013 or late this year so I was wondering does anyone have a better solution?

The 76/a goes from the square to the Blanch center. it does go around the world on the way (clondalkin, ballyfermot, palmerstown) and takes about 90 mins. they're like hens teeth and are completely unreliable (always late, sometimes don't show up at all) your best bet is a LUAS into town and a 38/a to Corduff shops (2 min walk to ITB). Although there is a bus from Lucan to the blanch center. 239 I think that might help if ya can get from Tallaght to lucan

As you said yourself your best option is probably into town and out. I used to get the 239 from Lucan last year but as the route it goes includes Clonsilla train station the times vary from 35 mins on the bus to over an hour, it was rarely on time and in the end I opted for the bus into town - bus out to Blanch option.

    Hope that helps!

cheap car ? wont be cheaper as bus, but most effective way. 25 - 30 min via m50. you might would find someone or even two, who would share expenses.

A moped might be a better idea. Car will cost a massive amount if using m50 twice a day with toll and petrol. A moped could go through Lucan through traffic.
